Constitution of the Abilene Christian University College Republicans
We, as students determined to achieve a better understanding of the government process, to increase student awareness of contemporary issues, to promote student involvement in the community, state, and national government, to teach the rights and privileges inherent in a democracy to the youth as future voters, to encourage leadership and responsibility among college students in the Republican Party, and to further the election of Republican candidates, do hereby establish this Constitution for the Abilene Christian University College Republicans (ACU CR.)
Article I
Objectives

Section I

The ACU CR considers itself affiliated with the Texas Federation of College Republicans

Section II

The ACU CR objectives are as follows:
    A.    To contribute to the growth and influence of the Republican Party on the campus of Abilene Christian University by
            recruiting students to be active members of both the ACU CR and the Republican Part;
    B.    To support and participate in the formation of the principles and policies of the Republican Part;
    C.    to aid in the election of Republicans at all levels of government;
    D.    To develop leadership skills and abilities among Republicans students as preparation for future services to the party
            and to the community.

Article II
Executive Board

Section I

The Abilene Christian University College Republicans organization (ACU CR) shall be composed of an Executive Board consisting of the following elected officers: Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary.  election of these offices shall be held the first meeting of the Abilene Christian University school year.  The members present at this meeting shall compose the needed quorum for elections of the Executive Board.

Section II

Duties of the offices of the Executive Board shall be as follows:
    A.     Chairperson:  The duties of the Chairperson shall be to represent the ACU CR in an official capacity in all areas; to
            preside over all general, executive, and special meetings of the ACU CR.  The Chairperson shall be empowered to
            create special committees as he/she deems necessary for achieving the objectives of the ACU CR.
    B.    Vice-Chairperson: The Vice-Chairperson shall direct the ongoing business of the ACU CR in the absence of the
            chairperson.  He/She shall preside over all meetings of the ACU CR in the absence of the Chairperson.
    C.    Treasurer: The Treasurer shall maintain the financial records of the ACU CR.  The Treasurer shall prepare a monthly
            financial report for all members who request them.
    D.    Secretary: The Secretary shall be the recording officer of the ACU CR.    The Secretary shall record the minutes of
            each called meeting of the ACU CR.

Section III

In order for an ACU CR officer of the Executive Board to resign, that officer shall submit a signed, written resignation to the ACU CR Chairperson, such resignation shall become effective immediately.  In order for the ACU CR Chairperson to resign, the Chairperson shall submit, written resignation to the ACU CR Secretary, such resignation shall become effective immediately.

Section IV

Any ACU CR officer of the Executive Board may be removed by a 2/3 vote of a quorum of the Voting Members.  The needed quorum for the removal of an officer shall consist of 51% of the Voting Members of the ACU Cr.

Section V

In the event of a vacancy of the Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer, or Secretary, the Chairperson shall appoint a member of the ACU CR to the vacant office until an election is held at the next appointed meeting.  In the event of a vacancy in the office of a Chairperson, the Vice-chairperson shall resume all powers and privileges of the office of Chairperson effective immediately until the scheduled elections are held at the beginning of the Abilene Christian University school year.

Article III
Members

Section I

Members of the ACU CR shall have meet the following requirements:
 
                    Clause I
                    Members shall be enrolled in Abilene Christian University for the duration of their membership.

                    Clause II
                    Members shall have paid the dues of the year they seek recognition as a member of the ACU CR.

Section II

Membership dues shall be determined by the Executive Board.
